Updates from NIH UNITE: Ending Structural Racism (ESR) Activities
The UNITE Progress Report for Fiscal Years 2023–2024 was published on June 12th. The report provides a detailed account of the prior year’s efforts toward increased equity and inclusion, including new key initiatives including the COMPASS program, new categories in health disparities, the Emerging Talent Program, and more funding opportunities. Training Spotlight: The NIH Library
The NIH Library is more than books and electronic databases. It hosts workshops, courses, and services like free editing and training on copyright, plagiarism, and publishing. Starting this July, the library will hold a series of courses devoted to writing skills. A fascinating set of trainings on retractions in the literature follows later in August. GRAD 500 I Writing and Publishing a Scientific Paper
This four-session, writing-intensive online workshop running July 11th–August 1st, 2024, is designed for all scientists, especially those starting out, who plan to publish results of their work in scientific journals. Participants will write a draft of a research paper based on data generated from their current or previous study for publication in a peer-reviewed science journal.
